Next up in the Sinchi series is lengendary producer I-Robots, who rustles up an intense and deep journey through the Opilec Music catalog. This has been dedicated to Hong Kong and in his own words’ I’ve DJ’d in Hong Kong several times and fell in love with the amazing metropolis and the people there… I was deeply touched by the recent difficult situation, so i dedicated this mix to HK, a city that I really miss’ .
ABOUT
1)Introduce yourself?
I guess I’m an eclectic “old school” DJ/Producer/Art Director/Records Collector from Italy.
2)What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?
It was a positive year with a large number of collaborations with the likes of Hard Ton, DJ Pierre and Francois Kevorkian to mention just a few.
As always, I was very busy in studio with my classic “I-Robots – Reconstructions” but I also signed some relevant licenses to fashion brands like Superga.
3)What do you have lined up for the coming year?
I will be focusing on the Turin Dancefloor Express project that could became a new label of 70’s/80’s Italo re-release series that will incl. my “Reconstructions”

7)Who or what are your biggest musical influences?
It is what it is… and I don’t know how to exactly describe myself as an artist. I was and I am still being inspired from several multi ethnic and international musical genres and styles like Bossa Nova, Latin, Brazilian, Afro-Beat, Soul Jazz, Jazz-Funk, Soul-Funk, 70’s/80’s Disco, Krautrock, Library Music, Electronic, Synth Dark Wave, Italo Disco, Hip-Hop, Deep House, Detroit Techno but also all the derivations and mergers between them.
8)Tell us about 3 DJ’s / Producer’s we may not know but should be looking out for?
I will introduce some of my label artists that I think are very talented and make Opilec Music really proud.

PERSONAL
9)What is your favourite bit of kit?
I love the LinnDrum – it is an early 80’s drum machine, and its sound is not completely straight, like more modern machines.
10) What is your favourite film score?
I would list 4 that are really special for me… These amazing movies have unique soundtracks that match the intense movies world so perfectly, that the music is really essential to complete them much more than others. I could watch them all everyday together with Star Wars complete series – even if the Star Wars score is not my favourite.

11) What is your dream destination?
Tokyo could be an option on top of the list since i am a chogokin toys collector. I could find some Popy, Nakajima, Bullmark vintage toys together with some rare records that you could only find there these days.
