Mexican duo BROLORIZO return to toucan sounds with the ‘Juno’ EP, arriving this May with the title track before the full release in June, and a remix pack in July featuring WheelUP and Monsieur Van Pratt. The release follows up their 2023 appearance on the Brooklyn label with ‘Agua Bendita’ featuring Lina Bastos.
Opener ‘JUNO’ features Ejyp, an NYC vocalist with a deep baritone voice who has featured on US TV shows like Showtime at the Apollo and Steve Harvey’s Talk Show and has also performed with the Philly Pops Orchestra. His buttery vocal pays homage to the Juno 60 and brings heart-warming soul to an organic house groove that is peppered with Latin percussion, gentle guitar riffs and bubbly toms. ‘Te Esperaré’ is another superbly organic sound with subtle Balearic guitar riffs, chunky drums and splashes of cymbal that are topped with airy vocal and playful Latin melodies. It’s a fantastic fusion of sound before the steamy ‘Music Saved Me’ brings a hint of disco funk and starry melodies to a late-night groove. The persuasive drums, swooning strings and neat hooks all overflow with authentic soul and a majestic vocal.
BROLORIZO is producer and vocalist Estefani Brolo and guitarist and vocalist Ana Rizo. They have a celebrated live set that blends their musical skills into an exploration of nu-disco, Afro-Latin, house and funk. They have collaborated with the likes of Polo & Pan, while Brolo is part of the Crosstown Rebels-signed love act Secret Echoes. Estefani and Ana are also co-founders of the female dance music collective I.M YONI, which has seen them collaborate with artists from all over the world.
