PREMIERE – 2 Block Radius – For Nicole (PillowTalk – Where the Buffalo Roam Remix) (Roam Recordings)

The latest Roam Recordings is a tribute to Nicole Mason who passed in a tragic accident. Nicole was a major part of the featured artist collaboration 2 Block Radius along with Tom Cloutman and Tee Cardaci founded in 1999.

During the late 90s early 00s San Francisco was a hotbed for dance music. Musicians from around the word moved to the city and serendipitously ended up living within 2 Blocks from each other in the Lower Haight neighborhood. A community of artists and musicians sprouted up. Roam Recordings started there and label boss JP Soul ran a popular after hours spot next to the legendary DJ bar The Top. Tweakin’ Records was on the block and Nicole lived above the store where he kept a recording studio and was always around for deep conversation and a good laugh.

To commemorate his passing Roam Recordings is releasing this EP For Nicole. The original offering by Tom Cloutman is a beautiful deep house tune that captures the essence of the days of yore and the sound of 2 Block Radius. The EP also features three remixes from San Francisco family JP Soul, PillowTalk and Galen.

All 3 remixes are very different and we loved them all in their own original way. As we could only share one though, we are happy to feature this customary smooth journey from the crooners PillowTalk.

This dedication EP For Nicole is a slice of San Francisco that brings together many long standing members of the community.
