During the last couple of years Russian wanderer Alex Pletnev has been involved with the Red Bull Music Academy, ran his own label & parties in St. Petersburg, had dozens of releases under different aliases and played with various bands on a number of albums. Finally, settling down in Vilnius where together with his brother opened a small bar named Monstro.
Alex’s taste in music is quite eclectic. In 2017 & 2018 he produced afro & oriental flavoured EPs for imprints such as Meda Fury, Bahnsteig23 and Mehmet’s & Majica’s Fleeting Wax. More atmospheric, dark and industrial EPs went out via Le Temps Perdu records (including remixes by Inga Mauer & Ryotta O.P.P.), Secretsundaze sublabel SZE & French experimental label KUMP.
Though Alex is a newcomer in Vilnius, he perfectly represents the exciting Lithuanian scene, amongst artists such as Manfredas, Siubas, V and many others. He is a resident in the city’s mecca of nightlife – Opium club and was part of the “Opium of the People” compilation in 2018.
In 2019, Alex plans to release new music with Le Temps Perdu records, Hard Fist and Multi Culti.
