PREMIERES

PREMIERE – ANIMAM – Ecosistema (Pierre Labret Fauna Remix) (Elephant Gait Music)

ANIMAM, the Mexico City-born artist now based in Playa del Carmen, unleashes a Gulf of Mexico-themed EP—a fiery three-track journey across sonic waves. The release is electrified by remixes from Marseille’s Pierre Labret and Elephant Gait hommie – Golden Axe, taking the sound further and crafting a richer, more immersive experience

Yocu: The balance between civilization and nature
A tribute to Mayan ceremonial journeys through a trance track, showcasing different sides of the genre all within a single piece.

Includes recording of a Mayan story told by a shaman in the jungle of El Cuyo, Yucatán, Mexico.

The story centers on Yum Balam, the great guardian jaguar of the milpas, delivering a traditional Mayan tale that highlights the power of mental sharpness over any external force.

Ravvadobb: The Influence of Nature on Music
An audio demonstration exploring how nature shapes sound, using reggae-dub as its core example, a legendary genre that holds a deep-rooted impact on Mexico’s coastal regions, particularly in Quintana Roo, the historic gateway where reggae culture first entered the country.

Featuring vocals by Artifex (Argentina), instrumentalist and vocalist from iconic Argentine reggae bands such as Leonchalon.

Ecosistema: Coexistence of Technology and Nature

Golden Axe transforms Yocu and turn into a dark dub masterpiece, rich with intricate soundscapes and the intense, claustrophobic vibe of small, sweaty underground dance floors. It’s a hypnotic journey that showcases yet another standout piece from a talented Russian producer.

Pierre Labret reimagines Ecosistema in two distinct remixes, each rooted in the idea that we are inseparable from our environment.

The Flora remix blooms like a living organism—slow, deliberate, and full of quiet reverence for the silent strength of plants and their unseen influence.

The Fauna remix crackles with Italo-Electro energy, embodying the untamed rhythm of the animal kingdom—primal, urgent, and unapologetic.

ANIMAM – ’Gulf of Mexico became a duality of ideas for me: on one hand, it explores a change of pace—inspired by leaving Mexico City to live surrounded by nature in Playa del Carmen—and shows how this new cultural, environmental, and emotional backdrop shapes my sound. On the other hand, it is a manifesto of roots and pride: a statement against foreign over-influence, reminding us of the inherent value and power of our country’s musical and natural heritage.

It is, quite literally, music crafted to represent our sound and culture.’
